With the closing of the OK Theater this winter, the Joseph Charter School Entrepreneurship class saw the opportunity to make some money, and offer a safe, affordable activity for students.  The class has been offering movie nights to the student body. The events take place in the cafeteria, and a movie is projected onto a large screen. The students bring their own seating (blankets, pillows, camp chairs, etc.) and sprawl out along the cafeteria floor. Admission for the movie is $3.00, and concessions are also offered. The class even features the Wallowa County movie favorite - popcorn with brewer's yeast.  So far the events have been a success, and have averaged about 30 students per showing.

The funds that the Entrepreneurship class earns will be saved for an end-of-the-year field trip. The class really hopes to earn enough money to travel to the Portland area and tour businesses. One of their top choices for a business tour is Nike.  See the document posted below for the current movie night schedule!
