The week of February 27th -March 1st was declared "Dr. Seuss Week" by the Joseph elementary teachers and students.  The classrooms and hallways, and even the students themselves, were decked out in Dr. Sess decorations for most of the week. Thanks to the teachers and art projects by Judy Kinsly, the hallway and doorways of the classrooms were transformed into a Dr. Seuss themed world.  See pictures of some of the decorations below!
To finish the week, on Thursday, March 1st, the students celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday (his real birthday is actually March 2nd but school was not in session that day) by dressing up. They also celebrated the 100th day of school. The kindergarten class dressed as shadows, the 1st graders dressed up like they were 100 years old, the 2nd graders dressed up as book characters, and the 3rd graders dressed up as Dr. Seuss characters.  Dr. Seuss book readings, movies, and activities were on the docket in all classrooms. From the sights and sounds coming from the classrooms that day,  an outstanding time was had by all.
Oh, the places our Joseph Charter School students will go!
