The month of April is a busy time for our Senior Project students. Each Tuesday night in April, the seniors will be presenting their projects to a panel of judges. The seniors are currently working on writing, creating, and perfecting their presentations. Yet again, we had a wide variety of projects this year and are excited for the students to share their learning. All of the students have worked hard and have learned a lot, while also benefiting the community. To learn about some of the great things our students have been doing, click here.

The Senior Project includes a self-chosen project that has something to do with a career they might possibly be interested in pursuing, a project portfolio, and a presentation on the chosen project.  Students will be required to write an initial proposal for the Senior Project during the last term of the Junior year.  Students will work with an approved mentor who has experience in the project area.  Project mentors may not be parents or family members, and should only be a school staff member under special circumstances (i.e. working on an education-based project.)  The student’s portfolio will be due for evaluation at the beginning of the last week of school for Seniors.  Presentations for evaluation will be given the final quarter of the senior year.  Students will receive a .5 credit of career education for the first semester, and .5 credit of senior project upon successful completion of the senior project class portfolio, project and presentation.
