Hello Parents and Guardians – I just wanted to give everyone a quick update on where we are at with the reopening of schools in the fall.  Our comprehensive blueprint plan is to return to school face to face.  In saying that we will be fully ready, willing, and prepared to offer online curriculum to those families that would like to remain receiving education through a comprehensive distance learning program.  We are currently vetting comprehensive online curriculum that meet all state and national standards.  In addition, we are working on technology that will allow our teachers to provide live courses to your child online in real time.  We really do want to work with ALL of our families to find an educational platform that works best for you.  For students attending online, our goal is to set students up with online instruction that is meaningful, rigorous, and allows us the flexibility to enhance the curriculum with our teachers.  Online students will be assigned a teacher they will work with on a daily basis for accountability and attendance purposes.  For those of you who will be sending your child to our campus, we have a draft of our blueprint to return to school.  If you have not received the draft, please let me know and I will send it out to you.

New guidance and updates for reopening schools will be provided to us next Tuesday, July 21st and we will update everyone on what those are and how they will impact our draft blueprint to reopen in the fall.  I will be gone next week, so look for an update from me the following week.

Timeline of events moving forward:

·         New/updated guidance from the state July 21st

·         Meet with the reopening committee the week of July 27th

·         Send out an update the week of July 27th to all parents and guardians

·         Online parent meeting/forum the week of August 3rd (be looking for a meeting invitation)

·         Submit a plan to reopen to the state by August 15th

We appreciate all of your patience as we cautiously and carefully maneuver through these challenging times.  Our biggest concern is keeping our students, staff, and community safe as we continue to work on our draft to reopen.
