Community‎ > ‎

At Joseph Charter School, we work closely with our community and its members.  We often solicit the talents of our community to assist in providing a diverse and meaningful education for our students.  Just a few examples of ways that we partner with the community include:

-          Charter Art Program (CAP) Instructors

Community members volunteer their time to share and teach our students about their artistic talents

-          Senior Project Mentors

Students ask community members to assist them explore a career and oversee a project. This often includes a hands-on job shadow experience.

-          Building Healthy Families

Provides one-on-one mentoring and resources for students, teachers, and families

-          Wallowa Resources

Provide a wealth of educational opportunities for our students through Outdoor School, WREN, etc.

-          Arts East

We work with this organization to provide artists and musicians in residence. Recently, we had artists who taught our students about pottery and beading and a musician who taught students basics of playing the fiddle.

-          Fishtrap

Provides resources for the annual Big Read, holds literary and educational events geared for students, and coordinates the annual writer-in-residence program.

There are many, many more community individuals who help make our school great.
Thank you to our entire community, parents, and volunteers for all you do for our students, staff, and school!!!
