JCS Students and Teachers Compete!

Two student teams and one teacher team from JCS competed in the 2nd annual Rotary Spelling Bee on the evening of Tuesday, March 18. The competition is put on by the Rotary Club of Wallowa County, and allows teams to compete for cash prizes, which can be then donated to an organization of their choice. All three teams had a very respectable showing, and represented our school well! The highlight of the event was when one of the student teams, comprised of Raymond Seal, Wil Story and Lindsay Kemp, won the student division. The team was awarded $250, which they will be donating to the Joseph FCCLA Chapter. The other student team competing was comprised of freshmen Sam Beckman and Nick Sands, along with 8th grader Kayden DeLury. The teacher team competitors were Marla Dotson, Kendall Hayes, and Christy Wells. They all had so much fun that Mrs. Hayes, the Honor Society Advisor at JCS, hopes to put on a similar event this spring for JCS students. Congratulations, teams!
