The teachers at Joseph Charter School strive to continually learn, grow, and become the best teachers that they can be. Teachers, in general, are always required to continue their education, but our teachers have recently been able to attend conferences and trainings throughout the country that will ensure that we stay at the forefront of educational issues. In recent months, and in the months to come, our teachers have and will be traveling to take part in a variety of professional development opportunities. See the list below for what our teachers are doing, and feel free to ask them about their experiences when you see them!

Rhonda Shirley and Sherri Kilgore - attended the National Charter School Grant Conference in Washington D.C. (Feb. 2012)

Olivia Hinojos and Michelle Homan - attended National Art Education Association Conference in New York City (Feb. 2012)

Jason Crenshaw, Lance Homan, Marla Dotson, Sherri Kilgore, Jim Hite, and Michelle Keffer - attended Northwest Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Conference in Portland, OR (Feb. 2012)

All teachers and administrators will be attending the Northwest Council for Computer Education (NCCE) Conference in Seattle, WA (March 2012)

Liza Butts and Kendall Hayes will be attending the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE) Conference in San Diego, CA (June 2012)

Lance and Michelle Homan will attend the National Charter School Convention which is held in Minneapolis/St. Paul (June 2012)

The list will continue, and there are certainly many events and trainings that the teachers attend locally as well. We hope to continue to offer quality proffesional development opportunities for our teachers!
