Senior Spotlight- Cole Scott
A sports car and motorcycle aficionado, valuer of sky diving and riding bulls, and lover of the color blue, Cole Scott will be remembered for his smile and strength of character, his philosophical discourses on what it meant to be a man, his ever-searching pathways with his moral compass, and his disregard for the superfluous. Master of the “brap brap,” if he wasn’t making engine sounds, he could be relied upon by his friends to bring genuine smiles to their faces. Ever one to get to the point, his piece of advice: “Do something about it.”

Senior Spotlight 2025 Lachlan Thompson
A veritable whirlwind of creativity and critical thinking, Lachlan Thompson is a phenomenal writer and artist. Singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen once wrote: “There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” Lachlan’s light brightens rooms, illuminates Japanese manga, and shines on the emotive corners of her experiences. She looks at the cracks in life and shines a light on them, revealing their beauty and rough edges, internal landscapes, and unique atmospheres. Next year, Lachlan will head to Southern Oregon University to major in film. Her advice: “Be yourself, and don’t let others bring you down.”

Senior Spotlight 2025
Joe Ralston
A veritable encyclopedia of unique words and phrases, Joe Ralston is at once the class clown and standard bearer. With his impeccable sense of timing, he would as fearlessly lead his class into battle with a stalwart cry at his lips as greet strangers with a welcome smile. In a word, Joe is a transition: always changing from one thing to another. But what never changes is Joe’s heart: he’s got one made of gold.

Emergency Response Training in process at Joseph Charter School.
May 7th
1:30pm-2:45pm

JCS Parents: Please check your email for Emergency Drill information.

On Wednesday May 7th, JCS will be conducting a PK-12th grade emergency and evacuation drill beginning at 1:30pm and concluding at approximately 2:45pm. Students will spend time training in the classroom in the event of an emergency and then practice evacuating off campus to the Joseph Community Center for re-unification and attendance verification.
We will be conducting this drill in partnership with local Law Enforcement and the Joseph Fire Department. Once we have safely evacuated campus law enforcement and the fire department will come into our building and conduct their own training exercises to clear the building and check for injured persons. We are very excited to partner with these agencies and prepare our staff and students for emergency situations.
If you have any questions please contact Superintendent Lance Homan or Principal Jason Gorham at 541-432-7311. During the drill if you need to make contact to pick up your student please call Lance Homan at 541-263-1739.

Senior Spotlight 2025
Lucas Goodrich
Like that trusty set of tires with deep tread that can get you there and back again through rough terrain, Lucas Goodrich’s life is one of fellowship. Part Samwise Gamgee, part Aragorn, with a good dose of Gilmli thrown in, this courageous and loyal student is who you want by your side when times are tough, and who you want to share a meal with at all times. Next year Lucas will be leaving the Shire for Oregon Technical Institute with a running scholarship and an eye for forestry. Keep a lookout for this long-ranging ranger spreading good across the land.

Senior Spotlight 2025
Casen Cunningham
Forethought, fire, fearlessness. Unafraid of conflict, but not one to burn bridges, Casen Cunningham is an articulate arguer, a dialogical debater, a laudable listener, and a community service-oriented student who gives back to both her school and civic community in a variety of ways. Next year Casen will be attending the University of Idaho for Agriculture Economics and Pre-Law. Her advice: “Become involved in everything you can and don’t procrastinate!”
